About the Goring Gap News
The Goring Gap News (GGN) is published by Goring Gap News Ltd. (Registered in England & Wales No 3118490) whose registered office is at Goring & District Community Centre, Station Road, Goring, RG8 9HB. The company is wholly owned by the Goring Gap News Association.

First published in January 1988, the GGN is a high quality 48 page monthly publication with full colour pages which has become an integral part of village life. In 2004, the GGN received a Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.
Produced and delivered by dedicated teams of unpaid volunteers, it is distributed free to all houses and retail businesses in Goring and Streatley and features news, views and articles covering a wide range of subjects relevant to the Goring Gap area. The magazine is a not-for-profit publication. Printing and other costs are offset by paid local advertising.

Any surplus is used to provide special grants for the benefit of the village communities.

Accuracy of information and publication of material
Whilst reasonable effort is made to ensure the accuracy of information printed in the magazine and published online, the Editor and Publisher do not check the accuracy of content submitted by third parties and do not accept any responsibility for the consequences of any errors that may occur.
Advertisements and any articles, letters, photographs etc submitted to the Editor for inclusion in the magazine are accepted by GGN for publication at its sole discretion and GGN needs to give no reason for a decision not to publish any particular item. Advertisers are responsible for the content of their advertisement, and by signing the advertisement contract advertisers agree to indemnify GGN against any claim or costs that might arise as a result of their advertisement.
GGN will request and retain only such information as is necessary for its own activities of producing a monthly magazine which is also published in the form of a pdf on the internet. Typically, this will be articles and news of local interest, letters, announcements, photographs, original writing and art, plus advertisements, events listings etc submitted by, or solicited from, individuals/organisations for the purposes of publication, and links to relevant internet sites.
Past copies of printed magazines retained by GGN are archived and retained in a locked room. and the digital versions are kept on PCs with appropriate security software. An archive of digital versions back to January 2005 is maintained on this GGN website. After publication of each issue, GGN has no control over printed copies once distributed or digital copies once downloaded.

All material (news, articles, letters, poems, drawings, photographs and other material, with the exception of advertisements) published in the GGN is copyright and the property of GGN unless otherwise accredited to another. It may not be reproduced or distributed on a commercial basis without the prior permission of the Editor of the GGN or the accredited owner.
Photographs of children under 16 years
Photographs of children under 16 years will only be published if parental permission has been obtained by the photographer.
It is the responsibility of the person submitting the photograph to GGN to ensure compliance with the above.

GGN will avoid prejudicial or pejorative reference to any individual’s race, colour, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or to any physical or mental illness or disability.
